Homeschooling

CLICK HERE: CURRICULUM REVIEW - BY SARAH BENNETT

MISSION MONDE is adaptable to many settings.  Although students will benefit from a group environment, which will provide the much needed interaction in learning a language, they can also successfully work through each level as an independent course.  If your school is not able to have a French teacher, or you are a mom wanting to teach your children French as part of their homeschooling program, here are some options that you might wish to consider:

Special Homeschool packages are available.

Mission ABC (K-2) (includes Teachers Manual, CD and one of each of the 4 levels of Student Workbooks)

Mission Monde (3-8) (includes Teachers Manual, CD and one Student Workbook)

Games and Activity Sheets:

Make the BINGO games, Activity Sheets, and Flashcards available for the kids to do on their free time.  They could play them independently by timing themselves and keeping record of their time, or by playing in groups during free time.

 Projects:

30 minutes could be set aside once or twice a week for the French Students to do group work projects, or to present their work to each other.

Independent Course:

The students can listen to the CD  and follow along in their workbooks.  They should have a binder with 5 dividers in it:  Stories, Vocabulary, Conjugation, Worksheets, Practice Exercises.  This is where they would do their work.  The extra worksheets from the Teacher’s Manual (Grammar, Stories...)  would be copied and placed into the appropriate section.

The Teacher’s Workbook and Answer Key can be used for corrections after they have completed their work.  At the end of each Unit, the student would do the test and correct it with the Test Answer Key.
